Wedding Favorites, Inc.

Twenty-five years, three brands, four channels, and one operating platform underneath all of it.

I founded Wedding Favorites, Inc. and built it into a multi-brand commerce business over twenty-five years. Three brands, each a genuinely different business, running on shared operating infrastructure: design and product development, overseas sourcing and manufacturing, import, a warehouse and fulfillment floor, and the systems and payment infrastructure to keep the money moving.

We reached eight figures in revenue. I exited in 2025.

Event Blossom

B2B · Wholesale, import/export, manufacturing

The wholesale and manufacturing arm, supplying wedding and event product to retailers, distributors, and the bridal trade across North America, and manufacturing white-label product for national accounts.

B2C · Direct-to-consumer

The direct-to-consumer storefront, selling wedding gifts and decor nationally. Highly seasonal, heavily personalized, and unforgiving on fulfillment. A wedding date is not a delivery window you can miss.

Marketplace · Amazon and Etsy

The marketplace brand, built for Amazon and Etsy, where the economics, the merchandising, and the competitive dynamics are nothing like running your own store. Different pricing logic, different inventory posture, different customer.

White-labeling is a different business from selling

Supplying a retailer at that tier means being inside their supply chain rather than adjacent to it: their compliance requirements, their delivery windows, their routing guides and chargeback regimes, their quality standards, and their buyers, who negotiate for a living. Winning the account is the easy half. Holding it through a season without a penalty is the part that builds a company.

What it took

Three brands, four channels, one platform.

Running three brands across four channels on shared infrastructure means living with the tensions rather than resolving them. Channel conflict between the wholesale accounts and the direct storefront. Working capital tied up in seasonal inventory. Manufacturing lead times measured in months against demand signals measured in weeks. Marketplace economics that punish exactly the SKU strategy wholesale rewards.

None of that is strategy. It is operating, and it is where most growth plans actually fail.

UPS Business of the Game

Event Blossom was selected by UPS, an official corporate sponsor of UCLA Athletics, as Business of the Game for the UCLA–USC rivalry game in November 2016. The company was recognized at a private reception before the game and announced to a crowd of more than eighty thousand.

The banner hung in our warehouse afterward, over the racking, which is roughly the right place for it.

The last chapter

Knowing when to change the model.

The exit matters less than what preceded it. As the maker economy took over a category that had been built on finished goods, we repositioned the wholesale business away from drop-shipping completed product and toward supplying premium blanks to makers, crafters, and small brands. We sold into the businesses reshaping the category rather than defending against them.

Most businesses do not fail because the operators cannot execute. They fail because the model stopped working and nobody said so out loud.

Reading a market turn and restructuring around it is the same instinct I bring to advisory work. This is the experience behind the practice: every constraint I now help companies work through is one I have hit myself, with my own capital at risk.
